Happy New Year: Time For A New Mindset

It's a New Year and time for a new mindset.  If you've been challenged by feelings of depression, anxiety, phobias, grief, or anything else that brings you down, now is the time to begin to make changes in your mindset.  Life is meant to be enjoyed and if you are experiencing negative feelings than perhaps you are looking at your life circumstances from the wrong perspective.  Life has a rhythm and we need to learn to appreciate the flow and feeling that comes with that rhythm.

You know, life does have a rhythm.  Look at the ocean, the tide comes in and the tide goes out. The ocean flows in and out.  Same ocean but it flows both ways. The day turns into night, light into dark.  The same day gives us both light and darkness.  Look at a coin: heads or tails.  Same coin with two different faces.  Our emotions have two sides also.  Happy:sad, positive:negative, optimistic:pessimistic and so on....  Two sides to the same emotion.  Without both sides, we would not appreciate the flow and the feeling.  If you have been challenged by feelings of negativity, then you are not focusing on the other side of the flow, the positivety.  You can't have one without the other.  What we focus on, what we think about will determine how we feel. Make changes in your mindset and learn to appreciate the flow and feeling of the rhythm of life.  Change your focus and change how you are thinking about life.

The next time you are challenged by feelings, stop and think about what in this situation would make me feel good or better?  Really think about this question and find an answer.  There is an answer.  What in this situation needs to happen to make me feel better?  Can I make whatever is needed happen?  How?  Find the answers and you will find the solutions.  I'm not saying you can make all situations exactly what you would like, but I am saying you are in control of how you feel because you are in control of how you think. Make changes in your mindset. Start looking for what makes you feel better and focus on what makes you feel better.  Keep asking, "What could I do to make this situation feel better?"  Listen to your own answers and start taking the actions that your mind already knows you need to do to make your life happier, more positive and more pleasant.  Begin to appreciate the flow and feeling of the rhythm of life.

It's a New Year.
